Corporate Overview
Cellics Therapeutics, Inc. (Cellics) was founded in March 2014 by UCSD professor Liangfang Zhang in San Diego based on his award-winning Nanosponge Technology. Cellics was created with the goal of applying the Nanosponge Technology to treat and prevent diseases.
The mission of Cellics is to use innovative biomimetic nanomedicines to save lives and to improve patients’ health. To this end, Cellics has been focusing on areas with unmet medical needs. In the area of infectious diseases, Cellics seeks to address the pressing issue of antibiotic resistance and severe septic shock from antibiotic treatment, which causes high mortality rate in hospitals. In the area of rare and ultra rare diseases, Cellics addresses the autoimmune diseases that attack patients’ red blood cells but lack treatment options other than steroid. Using Nanosponges as a decoy for toxins attacking red blood cells, Cellics also strives to develop a universal anti-venom to treat venomous animal bites and stings. Besides disease treatment, the Nanosponge Technology also holds the promise of preventing diseases in a safe and effective way. Cellics also seeks to develop effective vaccines for various diseases.
Cellics has been attracting top talents and developing quickly over the past years. It is the passion and goal of Cellics to use advanced technology to help human beings live healthier and longer lives.
